Corfu. Afternoon silence.

In Greece, after lunch, everything freezes. Even the dogs don't bark. Even the wind stops rushing. This is not "quiet time", it is philosophy. At first, I didn't understand why everything was closed, no one answered, the city seemed to be dead. And then I got used to it. And then I fell in love.

This is the time to be with yourself. Sit by the window. Lie down in the shade. Read, but not necessarily. Just look at the sky, where nothing is happening.

And it’s nothing – it’s healing.

The neighbor downstairs always comes out on the balcony at this time. She has a big straw hat, thin arms and the way she waves to me is like music. She never says "hello", but we greet each other with our eyes. This is our way of being close. Without words.

Sometimes you don't need to talk. It's enough to know that someone down there also loves this silence.

I'm sitting here drinking water with lemon and thinking:

In this country even time can be gentle. Not rushing is not laziness. It is respect for the moment.
