Corfu: an old town where time flows in Greek style

→ Candy-colored houses Pastel facades with peeling paint, carved shutters the color of the sky and pots of geraniums that seem brighter than any sunset. The Greeks do not hide: their houses are like their character: a little worn by time, but warm to the very core.
→ Linen Symphonies Here, drying laundry is an art. Bedsheets flutter in the wind like sails, and shirts dance between stone arches. I once asked Aunt Maria why laundry is dried right above the streets. She laughed: “How else? The sun is free!”
→ Walks along Liston This embankment is the heart of the city. In the morning it smells of fresh pastries from taverns, in the evening – of the sea and fried cuttlefish. The main rule: walk slowly, stroke the walls (they are warm, like living ones!) and catch the moments:
Old men playing tavli (backgammon) under the plane trees.
Cats sleeping on manhole covers (yes, they are kings here!).
Sudden courtyards where a view of the fortress suddenly opens up.
→ Photo magic Every corner here is a ready-made postcard:
Narrow streets-gorges , where the sun draws stripes of light.
Stairs to nowhere - entwined with bougainvillea.
Old doors with peeling paint effect (every photographer's dream!).
Lace balconies - especially those that hang over the pavement.
The secret of Corfu: this city does not tolerate haste. It is like an old friend - it wants you to sit down next to it, drink a frappe and say: "Tell me everything."
Have you ever gotten lost in such streets? Share in the comments - let's put together a collection of city secrets!
With love, your Lilia.
