My morning dialogue with the Aegean Sea: how sunrise in Paralia became a ritual of happiness.

Updated: Apr 1

My dears! If you only knew what a miracle awaits me every morning… Living in Paralia Katerinis , it’s as if I made a pact with the sun: “Wake me up at five, and I’ll give you my delight.” And so, as soon as the sky begins to brighten, I take a cup of coffee – hot, with a drop of honey – and run to the sea.

It is still quiet. Only the waves whisper something in their ancient language, and the seagulls sleep, their beaks buried in their wings. I sit down on the warm sand (yes, it already remembers my place!) and wait. And then magic happens - the sun rises from the horizon like a golden phoenix, and the sea lights up with thousands of reflections.

My sunrise ritual:

Coffee in an old ceramic cup that warms your palms.

Barefoot on the dewy grass - to feel every step.

Silence - only my laughter when the first rays tickle my face.

And also - I swear! - the sea changes color five times in these minutes:

1. Dark blue , like the veil of a goddess.

2. Lilac , as if the sunset fell in love with it.

3. Peach - the sun is coming!

4. Golden - here it is, the birth of the day!

5. Turquoise - and now you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Sometimes it seems to me that the waves are winking: "We are glad to see you too, Lilia!" And I whisper back: "Thank you for being here."

Attached a video — watch it happen! And promise: if you ever find yourself here, give yourself such a sunrise. No photos, no words. Just… be.

Do you have your own "happiness corner" where time stops? Tell us in the comments - maybe it's also a sea?

With love, your Lilia.
