What to do if the aroma is not right?

Little secrets of perfume correction

Sometimes a scent is too sweet. Or too harsh. Or… just not your thing. It’s not a mistake. It’s a dialogue.

Why does this happen?

  • Oils develop differently over time.

  • The components "sound" stronger than expected

  • Sometimes we don't give ourselves time to smell the aroma when it's been brewing.

What can be fixed?

1. Is the smell too strong/pungent?

➤ Add a drop of sandalwood , lavender or vanilla ➤ Or 1 ml of alcohol / base - dilute the composition

2. Too sweet or heavy?

➤ Balances bergamot , lavender , petitgrain , green tea ➤ This is an option - add a drop of vetiver or lemon

3. Too “flat”, doesn’t stay on the skin?

➤ Add a base : sandalwood, amber, labdanum or musk➤ Strengthens the composition and helps it “breathe longer”

The 3-step principle:

  1. Listen again the next day.

  2. Write down your feelings : what is bothering you, what is missing

  3. Add 1 drop at a time , allowing 1 day for development.

A perfumer is not only a nose. It is patience. And a love of nuances.
